Solid Polymer Electrolyte

Current Situation

Galaxy note 7's battery fire or notebook battery fire is caused by the use of a combustible liquid electrolyte in the secondary battery.
However, solid polymer electrolyte that can solve this problem has not been developed due to technological difficulties in the past 50 years.

Problem

Solid polymer electrolyte membrane should be used to fundamentally solve the explosion hazard of the battery currently in use.
However, it is difficult to reach the conductivity of σ ≥ 10-4 S/cm at room temperature for the solid polymer electrolyte in film state due to technological difficulties.

1~3 generation solid polymer electrolyte ( 1 2 3) did not reach 10-4S/cm

Plasticized electrolyte shows the conductivity near 10-4S/cm, but strength of film is very week and gel-type electrolyte contains high percentage of liquid electrolyte (possibility of explosion)

Solution

The solid polymer electrolyte developed by MIDAS MATERIALS has excellent conductivity of 10 -4 S/cm at room temperature and strong mechanical properties and can be applied to the next generation all solid state battery. Especially, it will play a very important role in developing next generation battery with high energy density.
